Merry Christmas …’Tis the Season

Merry Christmas …’Tis the Season

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Luke 2: 14

I bought Christmas cards to send out this year, then life happened. Today, the day before Christmas they’re still in the box, unopened.

As I looked for a few words to use on my blog and social media pages I came across many. In the end I decided on a part of a scripture. I only used part of it because it was more appropriate to what I felt this year. But there were many other appropriate and thought provoking quotes from some very famous people that I came across and I didn’t want to just ignore them so here are a few of the texts that had me thinking.

Charles M. Schulz

“Christmas is doing a little something extra for someone.”

Edna Ferber

“Christmas isn’t a season. It’s a feeling.”

Charles Dickens

“I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.”

Bob Hope

“When we recall Christmas past, we usually find that the simplest things—not the great occasions—give off the greatest glow of happiness.”

Winston Churchill

Christmas is a season not only of rejoicing but of reflection.”

I hope this year you will take time to enjoy the company of your friends and family and to take a few moments to reflect on what the season really means to you and how we can all make the world a better place in 2018.

Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year.
