It’s a great weekend to be alive in Canada, unless you’re a turkey.

As I entered the Galt market Saturday morning I took in the view of the ages that are our community. Framed by the old city hall building on the left and a glimpse of the market building on the right. Tree leaves convey the effect of recent frosts and in the distance the newly built towers of the Gaslight district overlook all the splender of the changing seasons. The sky was definitely fall like.
Inside the market building I joined a long queue to get some 10 year old cheddar.
Outside shoppers were moving from stall to stall in search of tasty items for their Thanksgiving table.

Thanksgiving in Canada is celebrated earlier than the Americans have theirs. The colder weather results in a slightly shorter growing season. Thus the crops are harvested much sooner than done by US of A farmers. And as all our southern neighbours know we have to get the crops in early so we have time to prepare our winter igloos.
I hope you had a bountiful season with loads of nourishment to stock up your igloo. At least we needn’t worry about freezing our harvest; mother nature will look after that.
